The Rockabilly Socialite's Best of 2010 List

Fairwell 2010, Hello 2011! 2010 was a pretty good year for me. I lost almost 50 lbs, bought a house, and started a blog! I am really looking forward to what 2011 will bring, but first, lets look back at 2010.

So, without further delay, the moment you have been waiting all year for.....

The Rockabilly Socialite's Best Of 2010 List!!!!!*

*In a very fun, light hearted, tongue and cheek way! Don't take it too seriously!

So, lets start this list off with a bang!

The Years Best New Rockabilly Band:

The Caezars!!!!

Unless you live under a rock, you have heard about The Caezars sometime this year. That's because they had a great year too! They got signed to WILD Records, came to the US to record their first album, got matching WILD tattoos,  played in LA and Viva Las Vegas...the list goes on and on. Their album is now out, so pick it up if you haven't yet. This band is wild, young and well dressed.....everything rockabilly should be!

The Best Album I Bought This Year*:
*This category used to be The Years Best Album, but I had to change it because the album actually came out in 2009. No biggie, I will just change the category to be accommodating.

The Modern Sounds Stomp Stomp and Hold It Fellas on Ventrella Records.

This double CD is so amazing that it is still the only CD I ever reviewed on my blog. I do plan to do more, mainly The Caezars CD, The Excellos, and a mix CD I got at Rhythm Rocker, when I get around to in next year. So, go back to the review, and read it if you haven't.http://missdolliedeville.blogspot.com/2010/07/cd-review-modern-sounds.html It's swinging, rockin', and almost as good as seeing them live! If you don't have this album yet, you must live under a rock.

The Years Best Dressed:

Holly!!! AKA Temperamental Broad!!! http://temperamentalbroad.blogspot.com/

Not only is she super sweet, a great dancer, and a fab blogger, but she has the best fashion sense! She has found the style that looks best on her, and she rocks it! She always looks put together, head to toe....great hair, makeup, outfit, shoes and a very enviable bakelite collection! I blame her for my new found obsession with shorts. Thanks Broad!

The Years Best Blogger:

America's Sweetheart, Mary Deluxe has had a great year too! She finally caught the right bus, and is engaged! Congrats! Now she has a new home to decorate, a new hair color, and a whole lot of interesting reading ahead. I can't wait to see what she does with the new place. Her current home is inspiration for my own, and I blame her for my new found Heywood Wakefield obsession.

The Years Hottest Nerd-a-Billy:

Crazy Joe Tritschler!!!!

I made this category just to show my continued love for Crazy Joe. :) He made me realize my love of nerdy teachers, white sport coats and old man shoes. Whats with the old man shoes, Joe? While we are at it, why do you always do that pointing thing and funny face in every picture? It must be a nerd thing. Crazy Joe also had a great year, and is now Dr. Crazy Joe. Have I mentioned how good he is at guitar? So good in fact that he made me swoon at Viva this year. The same thing happens everytime I listen to "Mary Ann". You can be my teacher.....or doctor....any time!

The Years Most Rockabilly Person:

Rockin' Ronnie Weiser!!!

If you don't know who Ronnie Weiser is, then you must live under a rock. If you know him, you know why he won the Most Rockabilly Person. No one can challenge this one!

* Honorable mention in this category goes to Sweet Pea.

The Years Best Dancer:

Raul Castro!!!!

Words cannot describe the amazing dancing talents of this latin lover, so just watch.....

Honorable mention in this category goes to Frantic Franny and T-Bone.

The Years Best Car Show:

Ventura Nationals!!!

I know what you are thinking. What? How could that have been better than the Viva Las Vegas car show? Well, it wasn't an easy decision. But, I have been to each over 5 times now, so I believe I can accurately choose which was more fun. Also, Viva was the easy way out. This way I have to explain myself. So, Ventura Nationals is by the beach, and the weather is always perfect. This year Sugarballs played, and as a merch girl I got in free, got free parking, got free drinks, and got to share the free hotel room. If I was treated that nice at Viva, it might have been different. This car show is smaller, which means less walking for me, which I like. I also like how laid back it is. So, sorry Tom! But if I had make a category for The Years Best Weekender, Viva would have won for sure!

Congrats too all of our winners! I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I wish I could make it longer and include everyone, but I do have a pretty active social life to get to. I can't wait to make all of 2011's memories together!

Happy New Year!

If only you could see me now....

I am walking around my office today, and thinking what other people see when they look at me. I am wearing very high-waist Freddies jeans, saddle shoes, a teal cardigan, the necklace Zack got me, and a pedometer clipped to my belt loop. Nerd-O!!!!

I am such an old lady!

Every year on Christmas Eve we stay home and make a nice big romantic dinner. We really look forward to it every year. Normally we make fillet mignon, but this year we wanted to do a roast with cranberry dressing. Here is how it played out:
